On Wednesday, March 23, SYLC young professionals had the honor to attend the 14th Mokmyeok Forum where former United Nations SG Ban Ki-moon inspired us to expand our horizons, connect globally, work together, and stand in solidarity for justice.
“No country however powerful can do it alone. We have to do it together,” emphasized Ban, and he also expressed his appreciation to all Rotarians for their efforts to make our society a better place. Ban Ki-moon served as the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations from 2007 to 2016. During his tenure, he focused on several key issues, including climate change, sustainable development, global health, and women’s empowerment.
Cultivating Global Citizenship is key to tackling unsolved global issues such as peace & security, sustainable development, and human rights protection for which solidarity & communications are also crucial.
